Rates Relief Inquiry
The council would be lax if it allowed another three years to go by with no results, said Cr F. J. Aitken, at a meeting of the Waimairi County Council last evening, when he asked if anything had been heard from the joint committee which has been studying local body rating relief. The committee represents the Counties’ Association and the Municipal Association, as well as officials from Government departments. The council decided to ask the Counties' Association for information on the progress of the inquiry.
