The Turkish Government has refused permission for a search of Mount Ararat for Noah’s Ark because an earlier search revealed no trace of the Biblical vessel. A group of scientists and archaeologists led by a Briton, Mr Ralph Lenton, had sought permission to climb the mountain to investigate traces of wood found in an ice pack near the 16,900 ft high peak.—Ankara, July 16.
