Cannon Given To N.Z. (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 15. One of six cannon jettisoned by Captain Cook to free his ship from the Great Barrier Reef, Australia, was presented this afternoon to the Prime Minister (Sir Keith Holyoake) at a ceremony at the Dominion Museum. The cannon was presented on behalf of Australia by the High Commissioner (Sir Edwin Hicks) and was received by the Prime Minister on behalf of New Zealand. It will be kept on -'isplay at the museum.
Six cannon were jettisoned to lighten the F ideavour. All have been recovered from the reef.
One has been given to New Zealand, one to the United States, one to Britain, and one each to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
