Death Penalty Move
The South Australian Premier (Mr Donald Dunstan) confirmed today that his Government intended to abolish capital punishment, even for particularly brutal murders, such as child-kill-ing. The move will leave the death penalty on the law books only in Victoria, Western Australia and the Commonwealth administered Capital Territory and Northern Territory.—Adelaide, July 15.
