Shire Lass In Good Gallop

The Wairoa visitor, Shire Lass, looked ready for a good effort in Saturday's Tararua Hack Plate when she strode out well over six furlongs at Awapunl yesterday. She is in the second leg of the Manawatu Hunt Club’s double. Pawa’s Lad and Sir Blue schooled well and Kirkman. Chanterelle and Huahine were others to work well. On the Inside trial Shire Lass shtaded Mundy at the finish of six furlongs in Imin 20 2-s,ec. the last three in 40 2-5. Chanterelle looks sure to go well in the Carnarvon Handicap. She sprinted smartly over halt a mile with Score and they took 52 2-Ssec, the las three in 38 4-’sec. Chanterelle has raced well but without much luck. She will face a weak field this week. Kirkman ran away from Judy Durham over five furlongs In imin 5 2-s,ec. the final three in 39 2-ssec. Kirkman is a bold galloper on the track but his race-day efforts have been disappointing. Judy Durham will begin a fresh campaign in the Maiden. Huahine ran halt a mile and sprinted her last three in 3g 2-ssec. good going. She is in the Tararua Hack Plate. Huahine was a winner at the Manawatu Winter meeting. Tardinl. which is now with B.
