N.Z. SHAREMARKET EASIER ON MODERATE TURNOVER
New Zealand shares were easier yesterday in a moderately active market. Most leading industrials lost small amounts and Australian shares were marked down with the exception of Mt Isa.
Closely held MorrisonP.I.M. made the best gain, rising 30c to 400 c. Dominion Breweries were in demand and the shares put on 2c to 180 c. The company is expected to make a good report this week and investors may be expecting additional returns.
Allied Concrete firmed 10c to 220 c after another record profit. A. Harvey lost another 5c of its recent gains to close at 460 c. Feltex eased 5c to 420 c and its stable-mate Reidrubber 2c to 480 c.
Fletcher Holdings retreated 2c to 207 c in spite of a year of records.
