Agreement On Award
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 8. By joint agreement, reached at a meeting in Wellington yesterday, the Master Builders’ Federation and representatives of the labourers’ unions will apply to the Court of Arbitration for an amendment to the expiry date of their award. The federation’s executive director (Mr T. C. L. Symes) said today that new rates of wages would be negotiated in conciliation and the Court was to be asked to set the earliest possible date for proceedings. The present award would normally expire next May.
