A.C.IL To Make Bid Soon
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 9. Australian Chemical Holdings, Ltd, has given notice of its intention to make an offer for shares in Cooper Manufacturing Company, Ltd, Auckland. The offer, which is expected to be made on July 16, came with the visit to Auckland by the general manager and chairman (Mr J. W. Sadler) and the company secretary (Mr J. P. Perry). Australian Chemical Holdings is in a number of fields but its main activities are in industrial chemicals and light engineering. Its net profit last year was! about $A970,000. It has two main New Zea-I land subsidiaries: A. C. Hatrick N.Z., Ltd, Auckland, resin manufacturers and importers and Polymers N.Z. Pty, Ltd, Auckland, chemical manufacturers. Cooper Manufacturing Company, Ltd, makes louvres, friction stays and “Chester" hardware, and is situated in Takapuna. Australian Chemical Hold ings says that the potential in New Zealand, as in Australia for industrial chemicals is very good.
