150 m.p.h. Race Kit For Triumph Threes
The B.S.A. group plans to market a comprehensive list of optional extras for its 750 c.c. three-cylinder B.S.A. Rocket and Triumph Trident roadsters which will, transform the machines into production racers capable of speeds in the vicinity of 150 miles an hour. The list covers all the items which were fitted to the B.S.A. and Triumph machines which competed at Daytona.
According to the general export sales manager of Triumph (Mr P. L. Britton), who recently visited Christchurch, the kits will be readily available in New Zealand. They include Italian lOin Fontana twin leading shoe front brakes, five-speed close ratio Quaife gear clusters, hydraulic rear disc brakes, capacitor ignition
system, alloy rims, clip-on handlebars, hydraulic steering dampers, three-in-one track silencer exhaust system, five gallon light alloy fuel tanks, revolution counters and rear seat foot rests. High compression pistons (12 to 1), nimonic valves, racing valve springs and lightened tappets are available for the engine.
