Luckhurst 48: Greig 5/42) by 47 runs. At Nottinghahm: Nottinghamshire 232/5 (M. Harris 101, G. Sobers 96 not out), Somerset 95/I—match to be continued. At the Oval: Surrey 280/5 (J. Edrich 91, M. Edwards 51, Younis Ahmed 87) beat Middlesex 272/9 (M. Smith 42, C. Radley 44, P. Parfitt 52, N. Featherstone 47; R. Willis 8/49) by eight runs.
