Junior Bouts: Were Close
Some close bouts were a pre, lude to the Canterbury junior boxing championships at a tournament in the WooUton Working Men’s Club last evening. The boxing confirmed opinions by C.B.A. officials that the province will have a strong team to select for the junior national championships to be held al Hamilton later this year. The referee was Mr M. V. Drury, and Judges were Messrs C. Knowles. C. Wellman and T. Wildes. Results: Juniors C. Patrick (Crichton Cobbers Club) beat R. Richardson (Woolston W.M.C.). referee disqualified Richardson in the second round; R. Waru (W.W.M.C.) beat B. Lloyd (Kingburn gym>. split decision: D. Morgan (trish Youth Club) beat M. Beecroft (W.W.M.C.), split decision: H. Anderson (Aranui Youth Club) beat D. Waru (W.W.M.C.). split decision; G. Ngaira (C.C.C.) beat C. Walters (Kingburn gym): K. Lloyd (Kingburn gym) beat D. Humphries (1.Y.C.): P. Warren (Kingburn gym) beat J. Phillips (W.W.M.C.); I. Grant (1.Y.C.) beat A. Ash (A.Y.C); R. McGlinchey (1.Y.C.) beat C. Bailey (A.Y.C.) on points: T. Robinson (A.Y.C.) beat J.
