AIRCRAFT CRASH
Four Victims From N.Z. (N.z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 7. Four New Zealanders from the Wellington area were among the 108 persons killed when an Air Canada aircraft crashed en route from Montreal to Los Angeles on Sunday. They were Mrs Diana Cicely Growse, of South Karori Road, Wellington, and two preschool age children, Peter Henry Growse and Jane Isabel Growse, and Mrs Growse’s mother, Mrs Andre Patridge of Waitohu Road, York Bay. Mrs Growse is survived by her husband, Roger Henry Growse, of South Karori Road, Wellington. Mrs Growse, her two children and her mother left New Zealand by air for overseas in April this year and were due to return home this week. It is believed the New Zealanders were on their way to Los Angeles to connect with a flight to New Zealand when involved in the fatal crash. Mr Growse is believed to have heard the news of the air crash while in Auckland to welcome his family home. It is understood he made inquiries in New Zealand concerning the passenger list of the ill-fated airliner and then rang Canada.
