Mr A. W. Tyree, the Auck-land-bom Sydney businessman who yesterday gave Sim Ito charity, had to borrow money in 1946 to start his electrical business. “I had nothing then,” he said today. “I borrowed £lOOO to start out And there was just my wife and myself, making transformers. The business grew from there.” Mr Tyree has given the slm for the establishment of a foundation in Australia for medical, scientific and educational research. Sydney, June 25.
