GRUBBING PROGRESS
More than 18,000 acres of land —11,077 of which are classed as arable were cleared by the North Canterbury Nasella Tussock Board in 152 man-days last month, the operations manager (Mr D. W. McLellan) told the board yesterday. Working at a rate of 124 acres a day, grubbers eradicated 19,275 tussocks in that time, he said. So far this year 120 properties have been cleared at an average of 135 acres a day. This work has been carried out in 740.5 mandays.
