FAMILY HELP
Increased mother’s and family maintenance allowances will be paid from July 8 to means test social security beneficiaries and war pensioners with dependent children. The allowance for a sole parent will be increased from $lO a week for the first child and $1 for each other child to $ll and $1.50.
The allowance for a married couple, now 75c a week for the second child and $1 for each subsequent child, will be raised to $1 and $1.50.
