Lamb Prices Much Easier
The offset of hot weather caused trading to move very slowly on Smithfield market last week. Quotations for New Zealand lamb moved downward. The main grade of New Zealand lamb (prime 29/361b) was quoted at 31d to 32id per lb, or jd lower than last week. New Zealand mutton sold slowly, mainly in cut form. The main grade of Nety Zealand hogget (49/561b) was quoted at 24d per lb and wethers at 23d to 24d per lb. Ewe mutton was quoted at 21d to 21|d per lb.
