A NEW POSITION IN THE EXPANDING TOURISM INDUSTRY MANAGER: $5OOO PLUS A GROUP OF MAJOR HOTELS owned by several Companies has formed a joint reservation service to provide a means of increasing tourist traffic to their hotels. The service is known as the Associated Hotels Reservation Senrice and represents some of New Zealand’s major hotels. With the increasing tourist flow to New Zealand, it is apparent that this service can produce greater results with dynamic management and accordingly it is desired to appoint a Manager capable of building an efficient and forceful organisation. The Manager will have complete responsibility for the efficient and profitable operation of the service. He will be expected to ensure that it is well administered and will personally undertake supervision of the marketing of the reservation service in North America, Australia and New Zealand. Representation overseas is undertaken by agencies who will be visited by the Manager at least once a year. The successful applicant will be self started, intelligent and hardworking with a successful record in marketing. Experience in the Travel Industry is important but not essential. More important is the ability to work unsupervised, to handle problems within a broad policy framework as laid down by the Committee representing the hotel owning companies. The Manager will be the chief executive of the Reservation Service and have the appropriate qualities for such a position. A minimum salary of S5OOO plus car is envisaged.
