APPLICATION FOR WATER RIGHT PURSUANT to Section 21 (3) of the Water and Soil Conservation Act, 1967, notice is hereby given. that the District Commissioner of Works, Christchurch, as agent for the Water Allocation -Council, Wellington, has received the following application from AKAROA BOWLING CLUB to pump 25,000 gallons of water four times a year if necessary from Balguere Stream at the bridge in Rue Jolie North, and run it in the side channel in Rue Jolie to the Bowling Green for flood irrigation. The application may be examined at the office of the Ministry of Works, ‘ Christchurch, during normal working hours. Written objections detailing the grounds on which the objection relies or written submissions concerning the applications will be received on behalf of the Council by the District Commissioner of Works, Christchurch, up to 4 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 1970. COMMITTEE OF INQUIRY INTO PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION PRESENTATION OF EVIDENCE The Committee appointed by Hon. Minister of Education to consider and report on the range of pre-school services and their availability to children under five years of age, giving particular attention to children with special educational needs, has now commenced its sittings. Written evidence is invited from interested persons or organisations upon any or all matters in the terms of reference already published. Copies of the terms of reference are available on application to the Secretary. Wherever possible, submissions should be of 12 typescript copies and should indicate whether the writer also wishes to support his evidence orally at the hearings of th£ Committee which are likely to be held in the major centres.
