Letter Box
. May I congratulate you on your motor-cycling page in "The Press”? As a motorcyclist for more than 55 years and one who still retains no small interest in the pastime, it gave me great pleasure to see the reintroduction by “The Press” of what was once a regular feature in the Christchurch daily papers—a page devoted to motor-cycling topics.
I believe that the movement is emerging from a “bad patch” which it entered several years ago as a result of the then high accident rate, and since then its image has not been enhanced by the use of motor-cycles by a hoodlum element, but it has survived setbacks in the past, and will do so again.
I noticed your review of “Twist Grip” and wondered if you would care to review a book which is having an excellent reception from both former motor-cyclists and present-day riders, and which is also the first book by a New Zealand author dealing with the topic. It is "N.Z. Vintage Motor-cyc-ling,” by Mrs Maureen Bull, of Masterton, who together with her husband is a prominent member of the motor-cycle section of the N.Z. Vintage Car Club.— GEOFF HOCKLEY.
Efforts are being made to obtain a review copy of Mrs Bull’s book. A review should appear in the next motorcycle page on July 10.—

RETURNING The present European season was to be the last for the outstanding New Zealand rider, W. (Ginger) Molloy. A works rider for the Spanish Bultaco factory for some years, he purchased a 500 c.c. Japanese Kawasaki while in America for the Daytona 200 and has had such great success on this that he might yet be persuaded to change his mind. He intended to return to New Zealand at Christmas, bringing the Kawasaki with him. But at present he is lying second in the world 500 c.c. championsijjp and his future might depend on what offers he gets for next year.
