Writers’ Club For League
A New Zealand Rugby League Writers’ Club, with membership open to journalists, newspaper contributors and broadcasters who cover the code’s activities, has been formed. It will have I its first meeting in Auckland on July 10, the eve of the first test, against Great Britain. The club intends to hold regular functions and invitations will be issued to touring officials and journalists and New Zealand administrators. It| is considered that the formation of the club will promote a closer relationship between officials and pressmen. Mr R. D. Cody, the New Zea-' land Rugby Leagues publicity: officer, has been elected as the clubs first president, and Mr B. Doherty, the Rugby league reporter on the ’Auckland, Star. ' will be the secretary.
