PLAY SET BACK

The illness of the principal actress, Kathleen Hildritch, has caused the postponement of the Teachers’ College Drama Society’s production of the Brecht play, “Mother Courage.”

The play was to have opened tomorrow in the C.S.A. gallery, but will new not be performed until late July or early August.

Because Miss Hildritch’s illness is likely to continue for some time, another actress will have to be chosen for the role of Mother Courage. The producer, Don McAra, said he was calling auditions for a replacement.

A new venue will probably have to be chosen for the play’s revised dates, which have tentatively been set down as July 29 to August 7. The C.S.A. gallery is unlikely to be available on these dates, and Mr McAra is considering using the Horticultural Hall. He said at the week-end that he had considered cancelling the production, but when he put it to the members of the cast they decided unanimously that they would like to continue with the play.
