Santos Fit To Fight
(N.Z. Press Association) j AUCKLAND. M. Santos, the Tongan-born former Commonwealth light weight boxing champion, has' been passed fit for the ring : by a leading Melbourne eye specialist, according to tele phone advice received by his trainer, Mr R. Grimmer, of Auckland. Santos, who is campaigning in Australia, had his New Zealand boxing licence withdrawn by the New Zealand boxing authorities as the re-! suit of eye injuries suffered in his title fight in 1967, when he beat B. Grant (Jamaica) on points in Wellington. Santos will have a return j 10-round contest against the (Victorian light-weight champion. L. Young, at Melbourne's (Festival Hall next Monday.
