SYDNEY, May 19 Kauri Holdings. Ltd, is negotiating to place a sizable equity with a substantial overseas company, directors say.
If a satisfactory arrange ment can be agreed upon, proposals made would be put to shareholders for their approval.
Kauri Holdings. Ltd; is a timber miller, merchant and importer. It was formed in 1963 to take over Kauri Timber Company, Ltd, after a scheme of reconstruction and rearrangement.
From a peak of $318,000 profit in 1963, its net earnings dropped to a loss of $231,000 in 1969, after showing a steady decline over the six years. The company’s shares since the beginning of this year have shown considerable activity. From 62c in January, they had fallen to 44c yesterday.
