Notification of another private member’s measure, the Physical Environment Bill, was given by Mr J. A. Walding (Lab., Palmerston North) when Parliament resumed yesterday.
Extra time was taken while Ministers answered 19 questions. Two private members’ notices of motion were then discussed until 5.30 p.m. One, by Mr C. C. A. McLachlan (Nat, Ashburton) congratulated the Government on overseas exchange transactions. The other, by Mr R. M. Barclay (Lab., New Plymouth) deplored Government indifference to rising costs. The House then discussed legislation.
