Viet Cong Deny Report
(N Z P A Reuter—Copyright)
HONG KONG, April 16.
The Viet Cong denied today that they had captured any foreign correspondents recently in Cambodia. In a press statement on the disappearance of a number of foreign correspondents, the Viet Cong’s press agency said that foreign ne”-s agencies had falsely reported that the men had been captured by South Vietnamese Communist forces in Cambodia. “This is an odious rumour of the United States imperialists,” the press agency said, according to the North Vietnam News Agency. Since the March 18 coup in Cambodia, at least six foreign journalists have been reported missing in an area close to the South Vietnamese border. The six, two Americans, two Japanese and two Frenchmen, were reported to have been captured by the Viet Cong.
