DIPLOMAT MURDERED

Count Karl Von Spreti, the West German Ambassador to Guatemala, who was murdered after he had been kidnapped by a terrorist organisation and held for ransom. The Guatemala Government refused to pay the ransom of SUS7OO,OOO and the release of 25 political prisoners. Count Von Spreti was shot and his body was found in an abandoned house in Guatemala City.’ West Germany accused the Guatemala Government of failing to take all possible measures to secure the Ambassador’s release.
