Ewe Price Up Again
There has been another increase in ewe and wether meat prices to farmers. From today prices for ewe and wethers up to 641 b will be higher by a half cent per lb. At the new rates a prime 451 b ewe with a 21b wool pull is worth $5.89, which is $1.35 more than the same ewe was worth in the middle of last month. The new prices are: Ewes Prime.—Up to 481 b, 10.50 c per lb: 49 to 561 b, 9.50 c: 57 to 641 b, 8.50 c; 65 to 721 b, 5.50 c; 73 to 801 b, 4.50 c; 811 b and over 4c. Overfat. —3.50 c. Seconds.—Up to 481 b, 10.50 c; 49 to 561 b, 9.50 c. Export Manufacturing—ln carcases, 8.50 c; for boning, 3c. Wethers Prime.—Up to 481 b, 10.90 c; 49 to 561 b 9.90 c; 57 to 641 b, 8.90 c; 65 to 721 b, 5.90 c; 73 to 801 b. 4.90 c; 811 b and over, 4.40 c. Overfat.—3.9oc. Seconds.—Up to 481 b, 10.90 c; 49 to 561 b, 9.90 c; over 561 b, 8.90 c. Export Manufacturing.—ln carcases, 8.90 c; for boning, 3c. Skin payments range from 86c a head for a sheep with a *lb wool pull to 191 c for a sheep with a 61b pull.
