Prosecution Sought
A creditors’ meeting ini Christchurch on Friday asked 7 the Official Assignee (Mr J. I; B. K. Curran) to take all 1 available steps to obtain the j prosecution under the Bank- : ruptcy Act of Donald Ross [ Page, aged 38, married with four children. The meeting was held be- 1 fore the Deputy Official Assignee (Mr L. Anderson). Mr Page’s financial state- 1 ' ment showed unsecured debts ' of $4185.81 and assets of $75.01, leaving a deficiency 1 of $4110.80. Mr Page was adjudged 1 bankrupt on March 6, having 1 filed in bankruptcy on two ’ previous occasions. He gave four reasons for ' his bankruptcy. One was uneconomic contracts brought; about by insufficient use of / expensive equipment along I with labour difficulties and 1 travelling costs. A second 1 reason was the need to continue the contracts as long as he was owing money on the 1 i equipment, the third was the i . repossession of equipment on : I hire purchase, and the fourth reason was pressure from 1 ' creditors. i
