The sale was negotiated byi Ithe International Thoroughbred! Agency. I Others bought in the last few | weeks by the agency and {scheduled to be flown from jAuckland next Thursday include iArabond, False Lustre, Lord Avon, Raphael, and Roseland ’Duke. ! The aircraft taking them to the United States also will carry 10 horses bought in Australia. i A seven-year-old mare by MorIris Eden from Wendover, Dover (Eden was formerly owned by Mr 'and Mrs E. Hartnell, of Auckland. Since she began racing as la four-year-old in the 1966-67! season she has earned just over' 'sBooo in stakes. I The former Pukekohe trainer, H. M. Allen, now manager of! the Prestatyn Raceway in North Wales, left Auckland for Britain yesterday after buying 21 stan- ' dardbreds on behalf of British trotting interests. Mr Allen paid $21,000 for nine' fillies at the National Sales at! Addington. All are for breeding purposes only. Two yearling: colts at the sales cost his clients! $3500. He felt he secured bar- j gains because both were very! well bred. One is by Local Light; from Rose Brigade and the other is by Garrison Hanover from 'Lame Duck. His other purchases were five mares from Southland, at ai i total cost of $5lOO, and five’! mares from Canterbury for : which he paid $6OOO. The yearling fillies will go to ' Mr A. Gubay’s Nandina Stud. ’ near Prestatyn. Mr Gubay is the I managing director of the race- 1 way. The other purchases were ’ made on behalf of various own- i ers. - I —— 1 (
