35-11 Win By N.Z. (N Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright) FUKUOKA (Japan). The touring New Zealand Universities Rugby side scored its seventh successive victory of the Japanese tour when it beat All Kyushu, 35-11, on Saturday. A crowd of 5000 watched the New Zealanders race to an 18-3 half-time lead, scoring three goals and one try in the first half and one goal and four tries in the second. All Kyushu led first with a penalty goal after four minutes. But the New Zealanders soc - came back and gained the lead with a try by D. Palmer. New Zealand’s tries were scored by Palmer (three). G. Thorne (two), H. Joseph (two), M. O’Callaghan and A. Mateson. R. Burgess converted four tries. The New Zealand team manager (Mr J. Jeffs) said later: “Kyushu provided determined opposition and tackled magnificently to keep the score margin lower than it might have been. “The New Zealand forwards drove well and gave the backs a good supply of the ball The backs ran strongly and introduced plenty of variation, resulting in some fine tries, which the crowd appreciated.” The team returned to Tokyo today to prepare for games against Canada on Wednesday and All Japan Inext Sunday.
