Contraband Found
Six Lyttelton customs officers who searched the 5957ton motor vessel Kwangtung at No. 7 Wharf, Lyttelton, on Saturday afternoon, discovered 23 transistor radios, 10 watches, and four bottles of gin.
The contraband, valued at $llOO, was found in two hollow Samson posts on the vessel's after-deck.
The Kwangtung, which arrived from Sydney on Saturday, is engaged in the New Zealand Far East trade. She is a British vessel owned by the China Navigation Com ] pany, Ltd, and has European officers and a Chinese crew. I
