THE 1589-TON DIDO, the latest acquisition for New Zealand coastal work, is the first ship of her kind to have a fully automated engine-room. The Dido, brought out from Britain by the Northern Steam Ship Company, Ltd, of Auckland to trade as a bulk-grain carrier, will load mostly wheat at Lyttelton, Timaru and Bluff for Auckland.
