“God Save The Queen”
Sir. —At a service in the Christchurch Cathedral today in which members of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade held a reunion, and at which the Dean of Christchurch preached an inspiring sermon, the congregation sang ■‘God Save the Queen." It is in my opinion, high time that the public familiarised themselves with the proper words. May I quote the true version: God save our gracious Queen, Long live our noble Queen. : God save the Queen, Send her victorious, Happy «nd glorious, Long to reign over us, God save the Queen. It is not “God Save our Queen."—Yours, etc., HILARY ECCLES. March 1, 1970.
