DOWLING OUT
The New Zealand captain. G. T. Dowling, will not he able to play in any of the tests against the touring Australian team. Recovery from a finger injury sustained during the recent tour of Australia has been slow, and although it was hoped Dowling might have to miss only the first test, he has stated that he will not he fully fit and is therefore not available for selection. Dowling has been New Zealand's captain since the second (es( against India in 1967-68. He has led New Zealand teams to four of their seven test wins—lndia in 1968. the West Indies, India and Pakistan in 1969.
