The New Zealand Universities Rugby team over-| whelmed Waseda University, 36-3, yesterday in the first of its nine matches in .Japan The N.Z.U. led 19-0 at half ( time. I The two teams had to play on a paddy ground of the Prince Chichibu Field due to thawed snow. The New Zealanders playing, aggressively, began scoring 12 minutes after the start and showed : their supremacy over the Japanese team in skill and speed, ■ scoring seemingly at ease. Waseda had Tittle chance (of making a counter-offensive ! until the second half, when lit scored an unconverted try I Tries for the N.Z.U. came [from A. McLelland (2), M I, O'Callaghan. R. House, L , Karatau, P. Baret, A. Mateson, ■M. Collins and H. Joseph. G. Kember converted three ■ tries and kicked a penalty.
