(ft Z P A -Reuter—Copyright) I GUATEMALA CITY, March 1. The Foreign Minister of Guatemala (Mr Alberto Fuentes Mohr), who was kidnapped on Friday night by i guerrillas who support President Castro, was freed by his captors early today after the Government had liberated a young guerrilla chief. The guerrilla leader, Vicente Giron Calvillo, was delivered to the residence of the Mexican ambassador in Guatemala City, as demanded by the kidnappers of the Foreign Minister last night. The handing over of the guerrilla leader, who had been arrested on Thursday, was the principal demand of the Rebel Armed Forces after they had kidnapped Mr Fuentes Mohr as he was being driven by his chauffeur on a suburban street near his home.
The Foreign Minister looked well as he entered his home after his release and embraced his wife and his children. He said he had been well treated. He had been kept in a small room containing a bed, and was guarded permanently by four men who carried sub-machine ' guns. Asked if he thought he might be killed. Mr Fuentes Mohr replied: “It did cross my mind."
