VISITS BY M.P.s
British ‘ Inquiry * (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ' LONDON, Feb. 27. An inquiry into visits by British members of Parliament to Communist countries has been opened by the Special Branch of Scotland Yard, according to the “Daily Mail,” which says that security officers have interviewed at least two M.P.s in the past week. The newspaper says: “The trend of the investigation suggests that the Special Branch is trying to: Build up a detailed picture of the public and private visits paid by M.P.s to I countries behind the , Iron Curtain; ■ Establish which M.P.s have been the most frequent visitors; 1 Find out whether there is any ' common pattern in the ' contacts they make on 1 the trips. “So far there is no suggesI tion whatsoever that the inI tegrity of any member is ■ under suspicion, or that a . breach in the security i system has been uncovered. ; “The M.P.s already quest tioned have been courteously i treated and have given complete co-operation.”
