Defence Post Retirement
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 27. The Deputy Secretary of Defence (air), Mr J. Jenkins, retired today after 40 years with the Public Service, the Air Force announced today. Mr Jenkins, who joined the Marine Department in 1930, was 24 years with the Air Department and the R.N.Z.A,F. headquarters of the Ministry of Defence. c He was appointed acting Air a Secretary in 1964, and later i that year became the first s Deputy Secretary of Defence , (Air) when the Air Department was absorbed into the new Ministry of Defence. 1 Personal ( Dr K. J. Talbot, of Timaru, will be inaugurated as president of the Medical Association of New Zealand, at a s function at Timaru on March 11 to be arranged by the South Canterbury division of the association.
