ARABOND PICKED AT WAIKATO

Arabend, which finished third at his last two starts and Aruma, a last-start winner, form a strong bracket in the Gaine Koller Memorial, first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Waikato Trotting Club’s meeting at Claudelands tonight. Both finished well at Auckland for third and first respectively at their last start Arabond. with a better draw from behind the mobile barrier, should race more prominently and should not find the two miles a struggle Bella's Command which finished fourth and sixth at the Hutt Park meeting should race well. Hi Mundy, which has never been further back than fifth in his last five starts, must be considered. In the second leg. the Electric Pace, none appeal more than the consistent Kimchella. Seconds over a mile and a half and two miles at the Northland meeting were both sound efforts and she should go verywell . Dark Wood, which has also been racing most consistently looks the one to beat Her only failure in recent starts was at Northland where she broke a hopple. Don Juan, which won over two miles at Northland and then finished fourth in a higher class on the second day must be considered. The jackpot, which will open with a pool of $21,726. will be run on races one to six inclusive. A few showers are forecast but they are not expected to harm the track.
