Not Competing In Pentathlon
(From Our Own Reporter i AUCKLAND. The New Zealand pentathlon champion, Miss B. Poulsen (Canterbury), will not defend her title in Napier next week. Her ankle is not yet strong enough for such a demanding event. Miss Poulsen originally was not available but later allowed her name to be included in the Canterbury team. She will now concentrate solely on the shot put in an effort to win selection for the Commonwealth Games. She has high hopes of successfully defending her national shot title at Auckland today. Irish Soccar.—Derry City and Cliftonville drew, 1-1, in an Irish Cup second round match.
