Show Queen Contest

Ten young ladies of Marlborough are entered in the Kaikoura Show queen contest. Most are from Kaikoura and the immediate district. The rules of the contest are simple. The contestants must be between the ages of 17 and 26. and unmarried. They must present themselves for judging in day wear which they consider to be suitable to the occasion, provided that the outer gar- ' ments are made of pure virgin New Zealand wool-and would qualify for Woolmark. Tpe price of the garment is not to exceed 830. Points to be considered in judging are: Personality, grace of bearing and walk, cultural and general attitude, manner of speaking and voice quality, grooming of self and clothes, figure and face appeal, general and New Zealand knowledge, farming knowledge. Judging will be first by private interview and second by public parade. The judges are Dr G. D. Gordon, Mrs M. Costello and Mr R, G. Andersori. The prize money is $5O, ■ and the winner will receive a blue ribbon. Those Who' have entered are:
