GAMES TEAM
Bowlers To Be Named
The first nominations for the New Zealand team to compete at the Commonwealth . Games 'in Edinburgh next July will be announced at the week-end, by the president of the national bowling association (Mr M. A. LeCren). Although the five players to be named are technically only nominations to the Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association, there is little doubt that all will be included in the team. The bowling association decided two months ago on a five-man team, which will comprise a specialist singles player and a four from which two members will also play in i the pairs. At Edinburgh, the fours will be played first, followed by the pairs and singles. I The national selectors (Messrs J. N. S. Flett, C. Walker and E. A. Wames) had 36 nominations submitted to them by centres, but they can, if they wish, consider bowlers not nominated.
