“Is this a Jagger that I see before me?" asks a big blonde belle wistfully prostrating herself in “Private Pop Eye: the Life and Times of Spiggy Topes. Or Not." Published by Macdonald (N.Z. agents: Whitcombe and Tombs), this paperback consists mainly of thinly-veiled satire of prominent personalities in the pop world. Much of the volume is devoted to captioned photographs, one of which depicts a disconsolate singer being told by a microphone “We’ll let you know.”
