Two-year-olds Work Well
j “Th« Press’* Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. | The two-year-olds, Dalriad ;and Pakistan Prince, ran fine trials at Awapuni yesterday morning in preparation for the Sapling Stakes at Woodville tomorrow. Both have drawn well and going by their trials there should be little between them on race day On the plough Dalriad shaded Royal Knight at the end of three furlongs in 37sec. Dalriad has done well in the last week or two and should run out the six furlongs better than most of his rivals. The easy ground .beat him on the middle daj 'at Trentham but he is certain ito have firm conditions to suit [at Woodville. ( Pakistan Prince worked right away from Edirne over half a [mile in 50sec, the last three |ln 37 2-ssec. This was another I fine effort by Pakistan Prince, 'which seems right at peak for Woodville. Edirne shows Pro mise but did not work too well and from a wide draw she faces a tough task tomorrow.
