Fairlie Railway
Sir.—Mr Trotter’s comments on the Fairlie branch are surely an indication of a district’s endeavour to retain an asset that is rightly theirs.) His efforts and of those concerned in this retention are to be commended for their public interest Mr Trotter has pointed out what a very important contribution the line would prove to be in saving transport costs in the Mackenzie Basin hydro develop- • ment as well as savings to the farming community Mr Gordon’s previous statements on offering the line at scrap ) value are worth consideration.—Yours, etc..
