Promising Pacer The highly-promising Gore four-year-old, Ghandi, was flown from Christchurch io [ Auckland yesterday afternoon. If all financial arrangements are comgleted he will join a consignment of horses due to leave Auckland tomorrow for the United States. Ghandi was accompanied by his owner-trainer, C. H. Baynes, who said yesterday that negotiations at a fivei figure price had been go'ng on for some time, but the American buyer had not marie a final decision until early yesterday morning. The sale was negotiated by Mr R. McArdle, who is at present in Australia. [ A four-year-old gelding by • Young Charles from Brahmaputra, Ghandi created a good impression when he gained a decisive win on the first night of the recent Forbury Park Festival Cup meeting. He was equally impressive last Wednesday when he overcame a shocking run and failed by only a long neck to catch Upper Class over 11 furlongs in 2min 54 3-ssec. He could not handle the heavv track on the final night and finished near the rear. Ghandi has been lightlv raced and has had only 26 starts in three seasons. He has shown a preference for mobile starts and should be a top winner for his new owners.
