Naval Rating Dies In Fall

WELLINGTON, Feb. 10. A 24-year-old Naval rating from the New Zealand frigate Taranaki was killed in a fall early this morning during the ship’s visit to Brisbane, the Navy Office reported. He was
Able Seaman Kevin Walsh, of Tukuka Street, Nelson, who fell on to a berthing catamaran between the wharf and the ship while returning on board at about 2 a.m.
He received severe head injuries and was dead on-arri-v.ale at the Brisbane City Hospital.
