STUDENTS’ TEST
Draw Likely Result (N Z Press Assn —Copyright) NEWCASTLE. With only one day’s play remaining, the first cricket test between New Zealand Universities and Australian Universities looks like fizzling into a tame draw. New Zealand, after being dismissed for 299, kept the opposition scoring rate down, and at stumps, Australian Universities had lost five wickets for 191. The Australian innings opened slowly and the team had been batting nearly five hours. The Monash batsman, K. Gosney, and R. Alexander, from Sydney, came together at 126 for five and at stumps had an unfinished partnership of 65 in 215 minutes. NEW ZEALAND First Innings M. Parker b Whitehead 16 I.
