HAMILTON, February 3. University students’ associations throughout New Zealand are reviewing the legislation relating to narcotics, according to the president of the New Zealand University Students’ Association (Mr P. Grocott).
He was commenting today on a call from the association’s annual congress at Curious Cove for legalisation of the use and distribution of marijuana. “Students are concerned at the failure of legislation to distinguish between marijuana on the one hand and hard drugs on the other,” he said. All university student associations were studying the question and at least two, Otago and Canterbury would probably hold referenda among their members, he Said.
