With the beginning of another school year, many mothers are back on the job packing lunch boxes five mornings a week. Sandwich fillings can be one of the main problems in giving variety, so I am giving a recipe today for Bacon and Liver Paste which may be useful. You will need.— jib lamb’s fry jib fat bacon 11b butter 4 pepper corns Salt

Method.—Cut lamb’s fry in to pieces after soaking in salted water and removing skin. Cut bacon also and add peppercorns and salt and steam for two hours. When cool put through mincer—twice will give a really smooth paste. Test for seasoning then put into pots and pour melted butter on top of each. Keep in refrigerator.

Apple And Raisin Cookies Another suggestion for school lunches is this one for Apple and Raisin Cookies. Ingredients given here make quite a large batch and it is an economical recipe. You will need. — If cups stewed apple (unsweetened) 1 cup sugar 2f cups flour i teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground cloves fib butter 1 cup raisins 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon f cup chopped nuts (optional). Method.—Cream the butter and sugar, add the stewed apple and beat well. Sift flour with salt, spices and baking powder and add to mixture, then add raisins. Blend thoroughly and drop in small spoonfuls on to a cold oven tray. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes.
